Since the “Cleaner Production” project was proposed in June 2014, the company established a project promotion team led by the General Manager that same month, developed a cleaner production audit work plan, and conducted on-site training for all employees. At the same time, Professor Li Jizhou from Nanjing Hohai University was invited to the company to provide specialized training on cleaner production and to offer guidance on relevant on-site implementation plans.

The company designates the Production Management Department as the lead unit, which, in accordance with the schedule, reports project progress to senior management on a weekly basis. The department has successively completed assessments of energy conservation, consumption reduction, pollutant generation, and wastewater discharge; identified audit priorities and clean production audit objectives; proposed and implemented no- or low-cost measures; conducted empirical measurements of input–output material flows; established material balances; analyzed the root causes of key waste streams; continued to propose and implement no- or low-cost measures; verified and summarized the effectiveness of these measures; proposed medium- and high-cost measures and conducted their analysis and selection; evaluated the outcomes of the implemented medium- and high-cost measures; analyzed and summarized the impact of the implemented measures on the enterprise; and prepared the clean production audit report.

On January 14, 2015, a five-member expert panel organized by the Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau visited our company to conduct an evaluation of our clean production efforts. The panel affirmed the rationality of the medium- and high-cost measures proposed by our company and highly commended the benefits achieved through energy conservation and consumption reduction. At the same time, the panel put forward specific requirements for the next phase of clean production work, with a particular focus on pollution reduction and emission reduction. In conclusion, the expert panel unanimously approved the results of this review.
