H1 Camshaft Dedicated Line Passes Customer PPAP Review

From April 13 to 14, 2017, a six-member delegation from Weichai’s Procurement Department, Design Department, and Manufacturing Department, led by SQE Luan Xinqiang, conducted a two-day PPAP audit of ASIMCO’s Camshaft Weichai H1 dedicated production line. The H1 Camshaft is a high-end diesel engine camshaft developed through collaboration between ASIMCO Camshaft and Weichai, and is used in Weichai’s WP9/WP10 models, which are expected to become Weichai’s future flagship models. To cope with the sharp surge in orders for the Weichai H1 Camshaft, ASIMCO Camshaft quickly established a dedicated H1 Camshaft production line within a short period and invited the customer to conduct a PPAP audit of this line to meet customer requirements. The Weichai expert team rigorously followed the “Production Part Approval Process Evaluation Standards” to conduct a thorough and meticulous audit of ASIMCO Camshaft’s H1 dedicated production line. The audit focused on process factor control—including production line personnel management, production line equipment management, process methods, measurement control, production line material management, and production environment control—as well as process outcomes—such as process capability, production capacity, on-site quality of finished products, and incoming material quality. After two days of diligent work, the expert team successfully completed the PPAP audit of the H1 dedicated line and highly commended ASIMCO Camshaft for its ability to deliver high-quality, reliable products on time despite the dramatic increase in orders.

The Weichai expert panel conducted a thorough and meticulous review of ASIMCO’s Camshaft H1 dedicated production line in strict accordance with the Production Part Approval Process Evaluation Standards. The review focused on process factor control—covering production line personnel management, production line equipment management, process methods, measurement control, production line material management, and production environment control—as well as process outcomes, including process capability, production capacity, on-site physical product quality, and incoming material quality. After two days of diligent work, the expert panel successfully completed the PPAP review of the H1 dedicated line and highly commended ASIMCO’s Camshaft for its ability to deliver high-quality products on time and in full, even amid a sharp surge in orders.
