ASIMCO Camshaft’s 5S Transformation Officially Launched

On the afternoon of September 6, the company held the launch ceremony for the 5S transformation in Conference Room 205. Company leaders, all mid-level managers, and key workshop supervisors attended the event. As the company continues to grow and expand, the expectations of customers at all levels—particularly international clients—regarding the company’s production floor are steadily increasing. In fact, 5S is the most fundamental management practice that the company has long been implementing; however, our understanding of 5S and our awareness of its standards still have certain gaps. To elevate the production floor to a high-standard, world-class manufacturing environment, after more than two months of research and preparation, the company ultimately selected Shanghai Zobang Management Consulting Co., Ltd. as the consulting firm for this transformation initiative.
Following the preliminary on-site diagnosis, a highly detailed six-month implementation plan has been developed, with the improvement strategy focused on first upgrading the pilot production line and then gradually rolling out the improvements across the entire company. 5S is a company-wide initiative; to this end, the company has established a dedicated Change Management Committee chaired by the General Manager and assembled cross-departmental teams, including a Visual Management Team, a Fixed-Position Management Team, a Publicity and Supervision Team, and an Inspection and Evaluation Team. We will work closely with experts from Zobang Company to form a highly efficient, unified team that remains committed to achieving the objectives set for each phase—working diligently and persistently until the goals are met.
At the launch ceremony, General Manager Chen urged all employees to carry out every specific task under the leadership of the Transformation Committee and Zobang’s experts, building on incremental progress to achieve transformative results. By leveraging small, cumulative improvements, we will create a “beautified” production environment and establish ourselves as a high-quality manufacturing enterprise, while also cultivating a pool of outstanding on-site management talent.
5S management is not merely a methodology; it is a mindset, a philosophy, a quality, a habit, a spirit, and a culture. It requires no complex principles or advanced techniques—it is a low-investment, high-impact, easy-to-implement, and highly practical management approach. As long as company leadership prioritizes it, employees understand and support it, the implementation strategy is appropriate, and the effort is sustained with unwavering commitment, the 5S management method can be effectively applied.
