ASIMCO Camshaft Holds Onboarding Symposium for New College Graduates

On August 17, 2018, ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd. held a symposium for newly hired college graduates in Meeting Room 203 of the company. Attendees included college graduates who had joined the company in the past two years, their respective internship mentors, and the company’s HR manager. General Manager Chen Aiguo, Deputy General Manager of Technology and Quality Dai Hongxing, and Union Chairman Zhou Quan also attended the meeting and had cordial conversations with the college graduates.
This is the latest in a series of symposiums convened by the company for newly hired college graduates, a gathering of exceptional significance that underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to nurturing talent. During the meeting, the head of Human Resources meticulously inquired about the interns’ progress and their current work experiences, while encouraging all participants to share their thoughts and express themselves freely.
Yang Zhongjin, a machining process engineer who just graduated from school and joined the company in July, was among the first students to undertake an internship at ASIMCO this year. During the symposium, he shared that over the past five months, he had successfully transitioned from a student to a professional, discovering that ASIMCO’s Camshaft team is highly positive and thriving. Throughout his internship, both his mentors and supervisors provided him with extensive guidance, while his colleagues were always eager to help him adapt to the new work environment. Working on the shop floor, he realized that being deeply involved in frontline operations is the foundation for effective work. He expressed his willingness to work hard and grow together with the company, looking forward to achieving his goals and fulfilling his aspirations.
Li Yinglong, who works in the Technical Department, has been with ASIMCO Camshaft for over a year. He said that although he had previous work experience, ASIMCO Camshaft is more standardized and employee-friendly compared with his former employer. The harmonious relationships among colleagues helped him quickly integrate into the team. He now serves as a project manager, which does come with some pressure, as he is well aware that a project cannot be completed by one person alone; it requires effective coordination and communication across departments and close collaboration to ensure the smooth progress of the project. His personal standard is to take every detail of his work seriously, because details often determine success or failure.
The university students eagerly shared their thoughts, expressing their desire to immerse themselves in the company’s operations and diligently enhance their professional skills. They also raised several questions about their work assignments and personal challenges. Several internship mentors noted that the new recruits are hardworking and resilient, proactively engaging with on-site tasks, possessing a solid foundation, and quickly adapting to their roles. They further advised the students to use their own critical thinking to identify problems, reflect more deeply, draw meaningful conclusions, and continuously improve their capabilities across all areas.
Subsequently, General Manager Dai expressed high expectations for the newly recruited technical talent, emphasizing that to master new technologies, one must set aside pride, proactively communicate, and efficiently resolve problems; work in the right way, adopt a fearless attitude toward challenges, and dare to question and challenge established norms.
As the head of the company’s trade union, General Manager Zhou expresses great concern for the students’ extracurricular lives and states that the union will definitely organize a variety of activities in the future to enrich their cultural and recreational pursuits. Furthermore, the union will do its utmost to provide assistance with any daily inconveniences or challenges the students may encounter.
At the end of the symposium, General Manager Chen Aiguo delivered a concluding speech, briefly outlining the more than twenty-year development journey of the Camshaft business—from its inception and growth to its continuous expansion—and highlighting the outstanding achievements the company and its products have attained in the industry. He encouraged everyone to contribute their wisdom and talents to further advance our Camshaft business. Looking ahead, Mr. Chen stated that the company’s goal is to achieve full automation, reduce labor intensity, promote smart manufacturing, move toward Industry 4.0, and gradually optimize the corporate environment, with particular emphasis on creating a comfortable and safe working environment for employees. In addition, the company fosters a highly “OPEN” communication culture: employees are encouraged to report any issues—whether at work or in daily life—to their superiors, up to and including the General Manager, and the company will do its utmost to meet reasonable requests. At the same time, Mr. Chen urged everyone that, regardless of their position, every role represents an opportunity for personal development and training; it is essential to persevere and stay committed, for “after the clouds part, the moon will shine through.” After hearing the leader’s remarks, the university students felt even more confident and determined, vowing to remain down-to-earth in their future work, master their skills, and contribute their wisdom and strength to the company’s development.

Additional news: On August 26, 2018, ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd. organized a summer team-building activity titled “Blossoming Dreams, Moving Forward Together” for college students at Nayuan in Yizheng.
Under the guidance of the staff, everyone toured the park’s facilities and orchards. At noon, we enjoyed a well-organized self-service barbecue, and in the afternoon we joined in some fun games, making for a joyful and meaningful day.
