From June 17 to 20, 2019, a nine-member Cummins Camshaft Expert Team—comprising representatives from Cummins Technical Center North America (CTC), Beiqi Foton Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. (BFCEC), Cummins East Asia R&D Center (ERD), and Shanghai ABO—visited ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd. for a four-day exchange on camshaft design and technology. During the visit, both sides conducted in-depth discussions and research on common camshaft issues under high-stress conditions, such as cam surface wear, uneven stress distribution on the cam surface, camshaft fracture, and unbalanced rocker arm loading. Based on the potential causes of these problems, corresponding solutions were proposed and will be validated through engine testing before being incorporated into future engine designs.
After four days of close collaboration, brainstorming, and inspiration, everyone has benefited greatly! The Cummins expert team commended ASIMCO’s Camshaft team for their professional expertise and open working style.
