ASIMCO Camshaft Successfully Completes the 2021 Internal System Audit

From September 22 to 24, 2021, in accordance with the company’s quality management plan and under the authorization of the General Manager, the Management Representative organized a three-day internal audit of the quality management system. The audit was conducted by two teams, which carried out focused, process-based assessments of the company’s management, all departments, and production workshops. The audit covered all requirements of IATF 16949 within the scope of the company’s quality management system, as well as every process, department, product, and shift under the system. Concurrently, audits of the environmental management system and occupational health and safety standardization were also conducted.
At the inaugural meeting, Deputy General Manager Dai Hongxing, as the management representative, emphasized that all departments must attach great importance to this internal audit, cooperate fully, enhance communication, and ensure the smooth conduct of the audit. Internal auditors are expected to adopt a highly responsible work attitude, effectively identify issues in the operation of the quality management system, and conduct thorough summarization and analysis.
During the audit, the auditors conducted a comprehensive, thorough, and meticulous review of all company departments by examining documents and records, posing questions and engaging in discussions, and observing and inspecting the work sites. The audit identified both commendable practices in the establishment and operation of the management system within the audited departments and areas where the system’s operation remains weak; furthermore, the auditors promptly communicated with the audited departments regarding the issues identified. A total of five nonconformities were issued during this audit, all of which were classified as minor nonconformities. The audit results indicate that the IATF 16949 quality management system is operating in compliance with and appropriately aligned to the standard; however, its effectiveness still requires further refinement and improvement.
At the closing meeting, General Manager Dai summarized the internal audit work, emphasizing that this audit served as a self-assessment of recent operations and the overall performance of the quality management system. He stressed that all departments must deepen their understanding of and ensure strict compliance with the requirements set forth in the quality system documentation, and that any issues identified should be promptly rectified. At the same time, auditors are expected to continuously enhance their knowledge of audit methodologies and refine their professional skills. Finally, General Manager Chen Aiguo underscored that, in addressing nonconformities identified during the internal audit, organizations must draw broader lessons and apply insights across related areas to continually strengthen the effective implementation of the system, thereby ensuring that products operate smoothly under systematic control. He further instructed that, starting immediately, all departments integrate system requirements into their daily operations and conduct monthly reviews in conjunction with their specific functions to guarantee the system’s effective operation.
