To enhance the production management level of ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd. and align with cutting-edge production management concepts, from June 24 to June 26, 2022, the TPM Promotion Office organized relevant production management personnel to visit Jack Co., Ltd. for study and learning.
Jack Shares is the world’s largest and most comprehensive global enterprise in the sewing equipment industry, offering end-to-end smart manufacturing solutions for the apparel value chain—including fabric and accessory warehousing, intelligent fabric inspection, smart cutting, overhead sewing, downstream sorting, and finished-goods warehousing—as well as integrated hardware-and-software MES, WMS, and APS systems. Its products serve more than 150 countries and regions worldwide, supporting diverse sectors such as apparel, footwear, luggage and bags, furniture, leather goods, automotive, and aerospace, and it has maintained the top position in global production and sales for five consecutive years.
On the afternoon of the 24th, the team visited a smart factory—built with an investment of RMB 5.6 billion by Jack and leveraging digital twin technology—to tour its automated production line for sewing machine housings. During the visit, the team gained in-depth insights into the entire lifecycle of an automated production line, from design and layout to commissioning and full-scale operation, including on-site fixed-position management, standardized labeling, and the critical role of intelligent technologies in streamlining production. The tour covered end-to-end design and implementation, spanning equipment layout, machining process planning, real-time machine tool monitoring and data-driven adjustments, centralized collection and treatment of machine-tool oil mist, routine maintenance and servicing of automated equipment, and comprehensive workplace environment planning. In addition, the team studied key technological systems such as intelligent sensing and control equipment, intelligent inspection and assembly systems, and intelligent logistics and warehousing solutions, focusing on their seamless information interconnection and integration. They also examined production-process data acquisition and analytics systems, as well as the practical experience of implementing an MES system that automatically uploads and visualizes critical shop-floor data—including production schedules, on-site operations, quality inspections, equipment status, and material handling—thereby enabling real-time oversight and informed decision-making.
On the 25th, a delegation led by Chen Huagui, Vice President of Jack Sewing Machine Group, visited Jack’s corporate headquarters. During the visit, Mr. Chen outlined the company’s growth history, its core cultural values, and its long-term development vision. He emphasized that maintaining consistent product quality, pursuing more sustainable profit models, adopting small-batch, frequent production runs, and ensuring rapid delivery of comprehensive product solutions are the key objectives for manufacturing enterprises. Achieving these goals, he noted, requires advancing toward lean management, digital operations, and automated execution in smart manufacturing. The visiting team then toured the headquarters factory, gaining an in-depth understanding of lean logistics and intelligent manufacturing processes in the final assembly workshop, and experiencing firsthand the allure of a state-of-the-art super-factory.
During the visit to the supplier’s factory, Vice President Chen Huagui explained the concept and practical implementation of low-cost automation for factory equipment, and clarified key insights into how small details in production-line design can lead to big improvements. Subsequently, the two sides engaged in on-site discussions on topics such as supplier management, automation program design, staffing for flexible production lines, and achieving extreme cost competitiveness.
At the conclusion of the visit, the two parties exchanged views on lean manufacturing in the context of the new energy landscape and on corporate development strategies, and reached a degree of consensus on talent development and collaboration on intelligent equipment, thereby laying the foundation for close future cooperation and shared growth.
Development never stops, and learning is endless. Through the visit and study, the members of the visiting team broadened their horizons and all expressed that the trip was worthwhile. They will continue to transform and innovate their production management and development concepts in their future work, carefully benchmark against others to identify gaps, and contribute to the realization of intelligent manufacturing of ASIMCO’s Camshaft.
