ASIMCO Camshaft Management Team Visits Zhengzhou Coal Mining Machinery Headquarters for Study and Exchange

Today, artificial intelligence is accelerating its integration with the real economy, and digitalization and intelligentization are crucial pathways for enhancing the core competitiveness of the manufacturing sector and achieving high-quality development. To elevate the company’s level of digitalization and intelligentization and reduce production and logistics costs, Mr. Chen Aiguo, the company’s General Manager, led a five-member production management team on a visit to the headquarters of Zhengzhou Coal Mining Machinery Group in early July to gain theoretical and practical insights into digitalization and intelligentization.
On the afternoon of July 1, we visited the digital factory for structural components under the guidance of relevant group leaders. The factory is guided by the Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing framework and leverages 5G communication and IoT systems to build intelligent, automated laser cutting and welding production lines, logistics handling systems, and a highly sophisticated Manufacturing Execution System. During the on-site tour, we observed an automated warehouse for raw steel plates, which operates fully autonomously: steel plates are automatically stored and retrieved, with only one operator required to oversee the entire facility. On the laser cutting line, rows of laser cutting machines run automatically, with AGV vehicles handling the automated transfer of workpieces. The welding line is entirely robotic, with all welding operations performed by welding robots. The layout of each area is well-organized, and all signage is standardized and compliant. In the dispatch center within the office area, a large display screen provides real-time updates on order progress and equipment status, leaving a lasting impression.
On July 2, a special session on “Digitalization” was held for exchange and learning. In the morning, the Feishu software team presented how internet-based concepts and tools can empower manufacturing operations. Feishu enables the integration and consolidation of information from various software systems across the manufacturing value chain, allowing enterprise managers to gain faster access to operational insights, facilitating the efficient flow of information, and enhancing the competitiveness of modern enterprises. The Feishu team highlighted how Sany Heavy Industry and Li Auto have leveraged Feishu to ensure that their organizational objectives remain sharply focused.
In the afternoon, Mr. Pan, Chief Information Officer of CIMC Group, presented on how to advance the group’s digital transformation. He outlined his five-year tenure at CIMC, during which he spearheaded the establishment of standardization frameworks, robust information security systems, and an industrial internet platform. He also highlighted the key enablers of digital transformation: strategic alignment, business-driven initiatives, technological innovation, organizational empowerment, and goal-oriented execution.
Participants noted that this learning experience was a visually and intellectually stimulating exchange. As a traditional manufacturing enterprise, the low level of adoption of Internet, big data, and intelligent technologies has become a major pain point and bottleneck hindering corporate development. Through two days of site visits and study, they now have a much clearer understanding of where and how to steer their digital and intelligent transformation. As managers, they will, upon returning to their companies, actively promote the implementation of various automation projects, accelerate the deployment and operation of digital management platforms such as MES, ERP, and PLM, and thereby expedite the enterprise’s digital transformation. The goal is to leverage digitalization to empower business growth and achieve clearer, more reliable, efficient, and agile operations management.
