Democracy Unites the Party’s Heart; Unity Achieves Great Endeavors—A Visit to Zhou Enlai’s Hometown

Visiting the Premier’s Hometown to Cultivate Patriotic Sentiments. On June 18, 2023, the Party branch of ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd. organized all party members to visit Zhou Enlai’s hometown for an immersive educational activity, where they were inspired by Zhou Enlai’s spirit, revisited the history of the Chinese revolution, and, drawing on the Premier’s personal growth, were encouraged to “study diligently, work diligently, and make friends diligently.”
This event included visits to two sites: the Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall and Zhou Enlai’s Former Residence. Despite the heavy rain, enthusiasm for paying tribute remained undiminished. Inside the memorial hall, participants paused one after another before the bronze statue of Premier Zhou Enlai to take photos, expressing their reverence and remembrance. As they followed the chronological account of Premier Zhou’s life, each precious historical photograph, every handwritten annotation and letter, vividly conveyed his monumental contributions to the founding and development of New China. Even in his later years, despite being ill, he continued working late into the night, truly embodying the spirit of dedicating himself wholeheartedly to the people until his very last breath.
The Former Residence of Zhou Enlai is the place where Premier Zhou lived before the age of twelve. A small desk, a century-old elm tree, a well—every corner of this tranquil little courtyard bears the imprint of Zhou Enlai’s childhood. Though his family fell on hard times in his early years, it did not shake his unwavering resolve to pursue education. In the empty rooms, one seems almost to hear that young yet resolute and clear voice: “To study for the rejuvenation of China!”
Today, our Party members live in a peaceful and prosperous era, making it difficult to fully empathize with the fearless revolutionary spirit of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries—who risked their lives and shed their blood to secure national survival, independence, and liberation, and to bring happiness to the country and its people. Nevertheless, through repeated study sessions on Party building, we are able to draw nourishment, strengthen our convictions, undergo spiritual purification, and translate what we have learned—such as Premier Zhou’s selfless dedication and his unwavering commitment to serving the people—into concrete work. In doing so, we foster a work environment characterized by “emulating, learning from, catching up with, and surpassing one another,” thereby contributing our share to the company’s growth and development.
