FAW Jiefang Makes Its Debut at the Northeast Asia Expo

The 14th China–Northeast Asia Expo, themed “Building Northeast Asia Together, Cooperating for the Future,” was held in Changchun, Jilin Province, from August 23 to 27. The expo featured eight exhibition halls, including those dedicated to modern equipment and new-energy cooperation, the digital economy, modern services, and modern agriculture, with a total of 3,427 international-standard booths. FAW Jiefang’s exhibit was located in the outdoor area of the Modern Equipment and New-Energy Cooperation Hall, aligning with the theme of intelligent manufacturing in the new-energy sector. A total of 13 latest vehicle models were showcased, encompassing medium- and heavy-duty trucks, light-duty vehicles, buses, and recreational vehicles. These vehicles utilize a variety of powertrains—including hydrogen fuel, all-electric, and hybrid systems—ensuring comprehensive coverage across multiple vehicle categories, functions, and application scenarios.

At the opening ceremony of the expo, FAW Jiefang’s booth stood out conspicuously. Its bold exterior design, superior equipment, reliable performance, cutting-edge technology, and premium quality drew numerous visitors and industry professionals to stop by, engage in discussions, and seek further information.

In the realm of new-energy trucks, FAW Jiefang’s J7—pioneering a domestically developed fuel-electric tractor—targets the high-efficiency trunk-line logistics market, including express delivery and fast freight, to deliver a superior trunk-line logistics solution that is reliable, safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient. The J6P all-electric dump truck carries forward Jiefang’s time-honored tradition of “high reliability” in its diesel models, with safety as the top priority for users. The vehicle features Jiefang’s proprietary new-energy network architecture and an independently developed whole-vehicle control system, firmly committed to earning a strong reputation through uncompromising quality. Meanwhile, the J6L all-electric cargo van, the J6L all-electric concrete mixer truck, and the J6L fuel-cell sanitation vehicle are each tailored to their specific operating environments, leveraging Jiefang’s self-developed integrated control system and dedicated new-energy network architecture. These models boast industry-leading technology, exceptional ride comfort, and remarkably low energy consumption.

FAW Jiefang also showcased two cutting-edge concept vehicles, which immediately sparked widespread discussion upon their debut. The J7 diesel–hydrogen hybrid concept tractor achieves near-zero emissions compared with conventional diesel trucks, while offering the advantages of mature, cost-effective conventional diesel engine technology over full-fuel-cell models, thereby significantly reducing acquisition costs and delivering superior total cost of ownership. Meanwhile, the lightweight all-electric concept vehicle strikes a balance between visionary design and commercial viability, making it ideal for urban logistics operations that alternate between intra-city and peri-urban routes. With a particular focus on the future urban express delivery segment, this model leverages a low-entry cab and a large-capacity cargo box to create the ultimate urban logistics vehicle in customers’ eyes.

In the passenger bus segment, off-road RVs and hybrid RVs are equipped with domestically leading electric motors and battery systems, coupled with highly efficient vehicle-level control strategies and advanced regenerative braking, delivering a brand-new RV lifestyle to users. The new-energy urban buses feature a completely redesigned exterior and a lightweight vehicle architecture, offering outstanding advantages such as low energy consumption, high safety, superior ride comfort, and intelligent connectivity. The all-electric autonomous bus boasts a strikingly innovative and stylish design with a strong technological aesthetic and a minimalist interior; it is powered by Tsinghua University’s mature and reliable autonomous driving system, while its CATL power batteries ensure exceptional safety and reliability, providing passengers with an intelligent, comfortable, and welcoming riding experience.

At this expo, FAW Jiefang showcased 13 of its latest models, fully demonstrating the company’s outstanding technological prowess and innovative capabilities in the new-energy sector and the specialized-vehicle market. Moving forward, guided by its “15333” new-energy strategy, FAW Jiefang will continue to embrace a pioneering spirit, foster a culture of bold innovation, and uphold a strong sense of responsibility. Northeast Asia Expo

Approved by the State Council, this national-level, international, regional comprehensive expo is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, the National Development and Reform Commission, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the People’s Government of Jilin Province, with the participation of the six Northeast Asian countries. It serves as a platform for global economic and trade cooperation, high-level dialogue, and cultural exchange, playing a vital role in promoting trade and economic collaboration in Northeast Asia and advancing regional economic development. Building on the successful outcomes of the previous thirteen sessions, this edition of the Northeast Asia Expo is themed “Building Northeast Asia Together, Cooperating Towards the Future.” In light of the new situation and in accordance with new requirements, it emphasizes robust top-level design, meticulous planning and organization, and a results-oriented approach, striving to achieve its established goals at a higher standard, with greater distinctiveness, more innovation, and greater practical effectiveness.
