Continuous Improvement and Empowerment — ASIMCO Camshaft Launches the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training Program

To optimize core business processes and foster a customer-oriented, data-driven management culture with “zero defects” as the goal, ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd. launched the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training Camp on November 10, 2023. The training invited Yu Xuan, an ASQ-certified Black Belt Master from the American Society for Quality, to deliver lectures at our company. A total of 30 participants from departments such as Process Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production, Finance, and Human Resources took part in the five-day program, aiming to enhance effective communication, cross-departmental teamwork, collaborative problem-solving, and overall work efficiency.
At the kickoff meeting, Qian Jun, Director of Human Resources and Administration, delivered the opening remarks for this training program. Drawing on his extensive experience in participating in numerous training initiatives, he encouraged the young trainees to prioritize team building and continuous learning and knowledge sharing—not only during the training period but also in their day-to-day work. Six Sigma is a management philosophy that integrates advanced management concepts, methodologies, and tools; he expressed the hope that the participants would make full use of this opportunity to learn how to apply scientific methods, think systematically, and solve real-world problems with precision.
The training commenced, with Teacher Yu Xuan first introducing the course modules and themes:
Phase 1: Overview of Lean Six Sigma and Definition of Process Management;
Phase 2: Minitab basic operations, probability and mathematical statistics, and measurement system analysis;
Phase 3: Lean Analysis and Hypothesis Testing;
Issue 4: Fundamentals of Design of Experiments (DOE)
Issue 5: Visualized Pyramid for On-Site Control and DFSS Design.
The Six Sigma methodology and its tools are taught following the D-M-A-I-C (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) project improvement framework. The curriculum is meticulously designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience, ranging from systematic theory to hands-on practical training, and covering everything from foundational concepts to advanced certification-level expertise.
Through a variety of teaching methods—including scenario-based drills, case studies, group games, and sandbox simulations—participants’ interest and confidence are stimulated, enabling them to fully engage in the course and boldly express their ideas and insights. At the same time, Teacher Yu Xuan focuses on delivering tangible training outcomes by employing a points-based system and random questioning to ensure that all participants actively master the theoretical knowledge and become proficient in using various measurement and statistical tools.
