With the continued advancement of “Made in China 2025” and the sweeping impact of Industry 4.0, next-generation information technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, and cloud computing have provided critical technological support for the intelligent transformation and upgrading of traditional industries. In line with the overarching trend of intelligent upgrading and to enhance their overall competitiveness, smart manufacturing has emerged as the development direction for traditional manufacturing—and represents the key to China’s transformation from a manufacturing powerhouse into a leader in intelligent manufacturing. Meanwhile, the digitalization of factories is an indispensable step on the path to realizing smart manufacturing.
ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd. Launches MES Project To build a digital factory, ensure intelligent and digital management, and enhance the efficiency and modernization of management operations, ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd., following prior collaboration with Ningbo Jiwang Information Technology Co., Ltd., has reached a consensus to jointly explore and implement ways to transform industrial production toward intelligence, thereby efficiently resolving production issues. On February 5, 2021, the MES project was launched via remote video conference, with attendance from senior executives of both companies, including Mr. Chen Aiguo, General Manager of ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd., and Mr. Bao Zhengwei, General Manager of Ningbo Jiwang Information Technology Co., Ltd., as well as members of the project teams from both sides.
During the meeting, the heads of both sides introduced their respective team members and conducted a detailed breakdown and exchange of the project’s objectives and implementation plan.
The project aims to establish a unified digital factory platform, build transparent digital workshops, and develop intelligent factories that seamlessly integrate automation with information technology. The scope of the project encompasses machine-to-machine connectivity, manufacturing execution systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and ERP system integration. Through the deep integration of these information systems, the project will enable effective control over production planning and completion, enhance the timeliness and accuracy of production data collection and analysis while minimizing human error, ensure full traceability in quality management, facilitate rapid generation of quality reports, and improve the efficiency of statistical analysis. Additionally, it will support comprehensive asset management for equipment, cutting tools, grinding tools, and measuring instruments, thereby helping the company strengthen its capabilities in new, internationally aligned support and assurance functions as well as in advanced lean production management and control.
The successful implementation of this project will standardize enterprise production management, establish an advanced and highly scalable application platform, provide a solid basis for corporate decision-making, and ultimately set a benchmark for digital factories in the industry.
