Carrying forward the spirit of our martyrs and fostering lofty ideals On April 4, 2019, during the Qingming Festival, members of the Party branch of ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd., led by Branch Secretary Zhou Quan, paid their respects at the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Yue Tang Yinghua Park, commemorating the revolutionary martyrs. Yinghua Park was founded in 1983; its grounds are lush with pines and cypresses, where the spirits of 133 revolutionary martyrs rest in eternal peace. Upon entering the park, all Party members conscientiously wore their Party badges and solemnly proceeded to the Monument Square. Branch Secretary Zhou Quan stepped forward to present a mourning couplet, and all Party members observed a three-minute moment of silence in respectful remembrance. Commemorating this chapter of history enables us to keep firmly in mind the suffering that war has inflicted upon the Chinese people.

Cost-Reduction and Improvement Case — Sand-Removal Modification of the Floor Rail Base Plate on Line B

During the molding process on Casting Line B, sand drops and fragments of the sand mold shell inevitably fall onto the floor, leading to significant accumulations of waste sand on the base plate. This not only results in material waste but also makes the line dirty and disorganized, thereby negatively impacting production. Initially, the solution was to install two rotating brush heads driven by motors to sweep the base plate; however, practical experience revealed that this approach was largely ineffective. The soft brush heads struggled to remove tightly bonded sand, yielding poor cleaning performance. Consequently, it was decided to retrofit the cleaning equipment to better address the issue on Line B’s base plate. After further discussion, a revised design was adopted: a scraper blade was mounted above the base plate and secured with a torsion spring, allowing for a certain degree of flexibility. As the base plate moves along the conveyor, it passes beneath the scraper, which removes any loose sand particles, causing them to fall back onto the conveyor belt. In actual operation, it was found that, thanks to the scraper’s fixed mounting and the resulting substantial resistance, even tightly adhered sand on the base plate could be thoroughly removed—without requiring any external power—and the failure rate was significantly reduced. Moreover, the cost of retrofitting with a single scraper was far lower than other alternatives; compared with the original brush-head system, which required frequent replacement, this solution also resulted in substantial savings on materials. The new solution strikes an optimal balance between functionality and cost, delivering superior performance at a lower expense and thus representing an exceptionally cost-effective approach. Following implementation of the new design, the accumulation of sand on Line B’s base plate has improved markedly, enhancing the workshop environment while simultaneously reducing quality risks.

On the morning of February 1, 2019, Wang Bingsong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Yangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Yizheng Municipal Party Committee, led heads of safety supervision and other departments, accompanied by Wang Changtian, a member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Yizheng Automobile Industrial Park, to visit ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd. to conduct a safety production inspection during the Spring Festival holiday and to extend greetings and condolences to frontline workers. ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd. attached great importance to this visit; General Manager Chen Aiguo personally accompanied Secretary Wang Bingsong into the production workshop to inspect and hear reports on the company’s production and operations, the implementation of its safety management system, and holiday duty arrangements. Uniting Hearts and Combining Efforts to Promote Work, Joining Hands to Usher in a New Chapter — A Record of the Camshaft Undergraduate Winter Team-Building Activity

In order to enhance the cohesion and sense of belonging among newly hired college graduates, enabling them to devote themselves to their work more enthusiastically and effectively, and thereby improving team efficiency, on December 2, the company’s Human Resources Department organized a winter team-building cooking activity for all engineering and technical personnel in the company canteen. Early in the morning, members of the procurement team gathered punctually at the supermarket entrance as scheduled and, based on the materials list, jointly purchased various ingredients and seasonings needed for cooking. After completing all purchases and arriving at the company canteen, the cooking team and other members had already assembled there; following the delivery of the ingredients, they immediately began tasks such as picking and washing. Everyone divided tasks in an orderly manner and cooperated smoothly, with each person involved from vegetable preparation to meat marinating. Although many were not accustomed to cooking, everyone did their best and showcased their skills, resulting in dishes that were visually appealing, fragrant, and delicious. During the meal, everyone chatted and laughed, setting aside work-related formality to talk about everything under the sun, naturally bringing them closer to one another. After enjoying the fruits of their labor, everyone worked together with the logistics team to clean up the canteen and wash the dishes, bringing the cooking activity to a perfect close at 2 p.m. Excellent team activities can foster emotional bonds among team members, strengthen team spirit and collaboration, and enhance team cohesion, which is highly beneficial for the development of the enterprise. As a new journey begins in 2019, everyone expressed their commitment to performing their duties meticulously, striving to achieve satisfying results through hard work, contributing their wisdom and strength to the healthy development of the company, and adding bricks and mortar to its success. Further news—On December 12, 2018, in order to express gratitude for the decades of diligent work and dedication of three employees who retired this year, the chairman and representatives of the company trade union held a farewell party themed “Still Cherishing Our Feelings, Always Happy” for them in the branch meeting room. Trade Union Chairman Zhou Quan delivered a warm speech, thoughtfully inquiring about the retirees’ daily lives after retirement and sincerely inviting them to visit “home” often in the future, wishing them a more colorful and fulfilling life in retirement! Embracing the Future, Leading New Manufacturing — ASIMCO Camshaft Enhances Its Guiding Philosophy and Promotes Intelligent Manufacturing

On November 2, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) was invited to visit ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd. to provide diagnostic services for the company’s smart workshop project. In response to CAICT’s diagnostic services, ASIMCO Camshaft attached great importance to the initiative. The company not only required all mid- and senior-level managers to attend the discussions but also assigned dedicated personnel to accompany the expert team in assessing the company’s infrastructure and manufacturing processes. Through on-site research, the expert team gained a preliminary understanding of the company’s scale, industry focus, number of employees, and other basic information. They then held discussions with the management team on factory planning, product quality, equipment and automation, IT software, network infrastructure, and the current state of quality management. Based on the company’s present situation, the expert team will focus on providing project construction plans in areas such as the application of intelligent equipment, interconnection and interoperability of workshop equipment, and real-time scheduling of production processes. On December 4, following an in-depth investigation, CAICT dispatched an expert team to deliver a work report on the diagnostic assessment of smart workshop construction at ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd. The diagnostic conclusion indicated that ASIMCO Camshaft is currently at the “excellent” level among the five levels of smart workshop development. The experts noted that the company has achieved a high level of automation in mechanical manufacturing but remains relatively weak in IT integration. Therefore, they recommended implementing an MES software system to monitor production, quality, equipment, and energy consumption, while leveraging a DMP data collection platform and MDC analysis software to enhance internal management and production efficiency. In addition, the introduction of a WMS process warehouse management system would help the company reach an even higher level of excellence in smart workshop construction. During the briefing, representatives from various business departments discussed with the expert team the impact of the software system functions on their respective departments. At the meeting, senior management emphasized that, in advancing the smart workshop project, the company must align its efforts with its actual needs and proceed step by step in a phased manner. At the conclusion of the briefing, the CAICT expert team provided clear guidance for the company’s smart workshop development and outlined a promising vision for intelligent, IT-driven, and automated operations.
