On January 7, 2015, it was learned that, with the approval of the Yangzhou Commission of Economy and Informatization (Yangjingxin Keji [2014] No. 202), the Technology Center of our company, ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd., has been recognized as a municipal-level enterprise technology center in Yangzhou. This signifies that, under the correct leadership of the company and through the tireless technological innovation of our technical personnel, the development, R&D, and promotion of our new products have reached a new level, placing us at a higher new starting point.

ASIMCO’s Camshaft Wins the C11 Camshaft Project for FAW-Volkswagen Heavy Trucks
On January 8, 2015, a delegation of four—Zhang Dong, Deputy Director of Procurement at SAIC Fiat Hongyan Powertrain Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SAIC Fiat Hongyan), Li Feng, SQE Manager, Yu Chaoxiang, Procurement Engineer, and Zhou Ershan, SQE from the Shanghai Procurement Center of Fiat Powertrain Technologies (FPT)—paid a site visit to our company for supplier designation. (Note: The C11 product is an 11-liter diesel engine project developed in China by SAIC Fiat Hongyan using FPT technology, with emission standards meeting Euro 5 or higher.) Chen Aiguo, General Manager of our company, extended a warm welcome to the visitors. Dai Hongxing, Director of Technology and Quality, provided a detailed overview of our company’s overall operations and reviewed the history of cooperation between the two parties on Camshaft products, particularly expressing gratitude for FPT’s strong support in the process of assimilating and mastering FPT’s steel Camshaft machining technology. At the same time, this collaboration has helped establish our company’s technological advantages in the machining of such products. Subsequently, the SAIC Fiat Hongyan delegation toured our casting and machining production lines as well as our inspection facilities. On the C9 dedicated line, they gained a thorough understanding of the process control parameters and work instruction documents for key machining operations, conducted on-site measurements of several critical dimensions, and commended the stable machining processes observed on site. The C9 product is a high-end steel Camshaft exclusively supplied by our company to SAIC Fiat Hongyan and FPT. Finally, after an objective evaluation of several competing suppliers, SAIC Fiat Hongyan and FPT determined that, given our clear advantages in understanding, machining technology, and process control for steel Camshafts, the C11 Camshaft project would ultimately be awarded to ASIMCO Camshaft Co., Ltd.

ASIMCO Camshaft Completes AOM Annual Assessment
From December 1 to December 5, Liu Jun, Director of Manufacturing Support at Headquarters, led a team of five colleagues from the Manufacturing Support Department in conducting an evaluation of our company’s 2014 AOM initiatives. The Cummins 6D production line and the Cummins AVALON production line were selected as the subjects of the evaluation. Over the course of two days, the evaluators systematically assessed compliance with each process step on both lines against a newly developed evaluation scoring matrix. The final scores for the two lines were 72% and 73%, respectively. In 2014, our company adhered to the principle of pragmatism, selecting from the AOM those elements that were most practical and feasible given our current business circumstances, and integrating these implementation requirements into the annual business plans of the relevant functional departments. We sought to align these initiatives as closely as possible with day-to-day operations and advanced them through quarterly internal assessments and subsequent corrective actions. Following the evaluation, the score differences among the six modules were less than 5 points, indicating that all modules were progressing in tandem and delivering comparable results. In 2015, we will shift our focus from a holistic approach to a more granular, localized strategy, undertaking deeper and more meticulous improvements at each individual improvement point.

Cummins Procurement Team Visits ASIMCO Camshaft (Yizheng) Co., Ltd.
From December 21 to 23, 2014, Cummins China’s Annual Procurement Conference was held in Yizheng. At 8:20 a.m. on the 23rd, the company welcomed a delegation of more than 20 leaders, including Mr. Meng Jikui, Director of Supply Chain at Cummins (China), and Mr. Xiang Yongdong, Director of ABO Procurement at Cummins (China), who were accompanied by General Manager Chen Aiguo, Sales Director Zhou Quan, Technical Quality Director Dai Hongxing, and other senior executives. The delegation toured the casting production line and the machining production line, during which they were given a brief overview of the company’s development history, its product manufacturing processes, and its quality-control procedures. The Cummins leadership and guests expressed their appreciation for the company’s efforts in quality control and urged that these efforts be maintained and further enhanced.
